Why Your Church Should Be Using An LED Sign

Blog

What draws prospective members into a new church? Word of mouth is certainly important for people deciding between churches, but if your church is new, you need to get some people to your services to begin spreading that word of mouth. And even if your church is already established, it's good to have ways to spread the word beyond relying on your congregation.

That means making your church an attractive place for weekly services as well as making people aware of the community programs and outreach that you are doing. Don't underestimate how important the outdoor sign at your church is for this: you can catch the eye of anyone walking or driving past, potentially interesting them or even inspiring them. And for outdoor church signs, there are some good reasons to go with an LED sign rather than an old changeable-letter sign.

Convey More Information

Many churches have a lot going on. There may be multiple services during the week, community outreach programs, various Bible Study groups, vacation Bible schools in the summer, and even non-church community events that are hosted at the church. You never know which of these things might draw someone into your church for the first time.

But an LED sign can rotate through various messages. Instead of needing to choose what information is most important and spell it out on a signboard, you can put information about all your services and events up for people to see.

Catch More Eyes

LED signs come in a lot of different varieties. Some are a single color on a black background; others are almost like television screens, showing fancy images and animations. But even the simplest LED sign is eye-catching because of its brightness; it stands out far more than a regular sign. Adding animation and movement make the sign stand out even more.

Change Messages Easily

You don't have to be a technological person to change the message on your sign. Most LED signs can be changed from any computer or tablet; some even offer cell phone apps for reprogramming the sign. This means you can always have the most up-to-date information on your sign when it comes to events and activities.

Messages that change frequently also make people want to check back with them. For example, you could have a weekly inspiration on your sign; perhaps a Bible verse that will then be featured in the week's sermons as well. This can make passersby more curious and might inspire them to find out more about the verse by attending a service. And it can also give your congregation something to think about during the week, keeping both the church and God in their mind between services.

Designing a Sign

After gaining a significant amount of weight a few years ago, I completely overhauled my diet. I began eating fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, and lean meats. During the summer months, I loved to buy fresh produce from local farmers’ markets and produce stands. While riding down the road, I often looked for signs advertising foods such as peaches, apples, field peas, and tomatoes. I particularly noticed signs designed with bright colors and beautiful pictures. If you sell delicious produce from your garden to the general public, consider investing in a professional sign to place by a busy roadway. On this blog, I hope you will discover tips for creating a sign for your business that drivers and passengers will definitely notice.
