It's a Bouncing Baby Boy! Girl! Twins! How to Tell the World What the Stork Brought

Blog

Since birth announcements in newspapers are no longer allowed by most hospitals, parents have the option of announcing their child's birth by old-fashioned means (telephone) or by placing an ad in the paper themselves via a direct line to the newspaper. There are a few other ways to announce the birth of your child too, including social media. Perhaps the most fun ways of announcing the birth of your child are some of the following.

Banners and Banner Stands

What better way to announce to your neighbors and the world that you have just had a child than with a banner. Back in the day, banners were a big ordeal because people would spend hours creating a banner design on a computer screen where they could not see the full printout in its entirety. Therefore, any mistakes could not be seen until the banner was printed. Printing the banner also took a long time because printers were not as high tech then as they are now.

Now,  businesses that specialize in banners and banner stands can print out a colorful, celebratory banner in minutes and slide it onto a stand for you. Put the stand and the banner outside on your lawn or walkway and let everyone know what bundle(s) of joy you have brought home. (It is also a nice keepsake for your child to look at later on.)

The Classic Stork Announcement Sign

Lawn ornament delivery companies often offer "announcement signs" and installation, which typically include baby deliveries and wedding signs. The stork announcement sign is a classic one, which includes a fully-painted wooden stork with a ring in its beak to which a diaper and a wooden baby sign can attach and hang. The diaper satchel of the stork is painted blue or pink, according to the sex of your child, and info about your baby is painted over the top of that. You can leave the information off and just paint the diaper satchel pink or blue, too.

Baby "___" on Board Signs for the Car

If you want to announce your baby (or babies), but you do not want to make a really big fuss, try the "baby on board" signs. You can get "baby boy," "baby girl" and "twins" on board signs that suction cup to your back windshield or side windows to show your pride. Some of the boy/girl signs are even blue or pink, respectively.

Designing a Sign

After gaining a significant amount of weight a few years ago, I completely overhauled my diet. I began eating fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, and lean meats. During the summer months, I loved to buy fresh produce from local farmers’ markets and produce stands. While riding down the road, I often looked for signs advertising foods such as peaches, apples, field peas, and tomatoes. I particularly noticed signs designed with bright colors and beautiful pictures. If you sell delicious produce from your garden to the general public, consider investing in a professional sign to place by a busy roadway. On this blog, I hope you will discover tips for creating a sign for your business that drivers and passengers will definitely notice.
